About Me

Ministry & Marketing

Anita L. Cobbins

In the summer of 2003, my pastor, the late Rev. Dr. Wallace S. Hartsfield, Sr., made this observation, “If ever I’ve seen an overcomer, I’ve seen it in you.”

These words were expressed as overtime, Pastor Hartsfield witnessed my determination to re-establish my life after a 1997 near-tragic, head-on collision left me partially paralyzed and with other related health issues.

Since then, my faith and determination have been a personal challenge to use the adversities of living with a spinal cord injury, as stepping stones to a life of purpose. For me, life is now about “taking steps towards healing and wholeness.”

I am thrilled to tell you more about myself. I am an ordained minister, author, teacher, and motivational speaker.

"My healing does not come full circle unless and until I can help someone else "

-Anita Cobbins

Through personal appearances and published writings, I passionately desire to make a compelling case to live with purpose and be fulfilled by unleashing one’s faith in God. I recognize the faith experience is not a one-size-fits-all journey or one situation is not enough to fully understand how God works. This realization became more apparent following a near-fatal automobile accident, which left me partially paralyzed.

I emphatically will tell anyone that faith in God dares to know no bounds. However, faith in God is unique to the individual person. More importantly, faith in God is ultimately measured by how much a person desires and initiates steps towards a closer relationship with God.

I also launched Faith In God Ministries. Inc. (FIGM), which integrates my gifts in ministry; oral and written communications; marketing, social media, leadership, and partnership collaborations.

FIGM’s core emphasis is to reach and share with others the reality and power of living by faith, whether based on daily experiences or confronted by seemingly insurmountable circumstances.

Church Service

I have been an active member of the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, Kansas City, Mo., since 1987, serving in ministries in teaching, preaching, music, communications, missions, and leadership.

In 2006, I was honored to be one of the first of two women the late Pastor Wallace S. Hartsfield, Sr., recommended to serve in the preaching ministry during his final address to the church congregation prior to his official 2007 retirement.

In 2008, I was licensed as a preacher of the Gospel. This was history-making for Metropolitan, since women were not previously recognized as preachers of God’s word.

Professional Experience and Education

I have over three decades of experience in marketing and communications, community outreach, and customer service. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from Kansas State University. I studied and earned a dual Master of Arts in Marketing and Media Communications from Webster University. I also earned certification in Facebook Digital Marketing through Pathstream in partnership with Webster University.

Faith in God is at the forefront of this ministry so that people can confidently overcome life's challenges while living purposefully according to God's word.

Life happens. The unexpected knocks us off course and faith in God can easily plummet under pain, disappointments and heartaches.

I often have to remind myself of my own mantra, “You’re taking steps towards healing and wholeness.” As I learn from my experiences, I am motivated all the more to “keep the faith, but not to myself.”

So Faith In God Ministries is here to help, here to serve. Together, let’s stay connected. Stay encouraged.
